Mortgage Communication tactics Frequent or repeated calls Georgia
On -/-/2015, I purchased a membership with - - - - -. I received a letter in the mail pertaining to a free 5-7 day vacation. I called the number and spoke with a representative that told me I would get a free vacation for attending a presentation they were having in the -, -. The rep said that the vacation was completely free and the only fees I would be responsible for would be porting fees wherever I chose to port from. I asked if this were a timeshare presentation and was told no. The rep said they were nothing like timeshare but they turned out to be exactly that. I went to the the presentation expecting to receive a free trip. My wife and I already owned timeshare with - - - in - - -, so we had no plans of signing up for another. A gentlemen by the name of - was the speaker. He was also the manager. He asked if anyone in the room has ever had timeshare. He went on to talk about how timeshare is a waste of money and you have to pay maintenance fees for the remainder of your life.
We met with a sales rep name - after the presentation that told us we would be out of contract with - - in about six months if we agreed to a membership with them. After about 4 hours, my wife and I decided to join - -. About a month after we signed our contract we tried to schedule a family cruise that was the price as one my wife found on -. - said their prices would save us a ton of money but that was n't the case. We were paying them $230.00 per month for vacations we could find on any website. The free trip that I was promised was n't free. I would also have to pay processing fees among other fees that would cost me about $ 700- $800.00. They also did not explain that I would have to pay renewal and regular monthly dues in the same month. Nothing they promised me they have done. I have been receiving calls constantly from - and Monterey Financial Services who the finances the loan. I explained my concerns to - who was the customer service rep I spoke with. A few days later I received a call from -. I advised them not to call me again but I have continued to receive phone calls. They have called me several times about this account after I told them not too. They have also called my wife on multiple occasions and she has no obligation to them because she is n't on the contract. The most recent call I received was on -/-/2015 from -. The sound very angry in her voicemail and said I must return her phone call by the end of the day to avoid having the account go to collections. I have chosen not to pay this account because I have been lied to and been misinformed about everything. I have n't received anything they promised me. I feel as if I were scammed and do n't feel I should be obligated to pay the reminder of this contract. My credit score has also been affected negatively by this account.
