Cottonwood Financial Ltd. Payday loan department,
Charged fees or interest I didn't expect Texas
I became a cash store - - wesley - - -, - Texas - ) customer on - - 2015. I made - loans total. The - ( $800.00 - & - ( $500.00 - loans were - paid off, in full. within 3 weeks of aquiring the loans. - payoff was $950.00 paid on -/-/15. - payoff was $590.00 paid on -/-/2015. Up to this point there was no problem with the cash store. I needed the - loan to pay for repairs on my truck. The - was to help allieviate the stress of such a large payment in one month. I made a - loan for the same reason. This was my plan from day one. That way making the month wouldnt be so difficult. The - loan was for $400.00. after that was paid off i could make it without too much stress. But this - loan was when we began to reach impass - a real problem. But let me back, up along the timeline, a bit. I called the cash store on saturday the - of - 2015 to inquire about store hours. - the cash store employee who had handled all my cash
the cash store. The .process had taken at least 30 - 45 minutes.but not the last time! I dont recall what day. It was when i did go to the cash store but it was not saturday the -. The - cash store loan i applied for was for $400.00. & i was gone in 10 minutes. The papers i signed that day were for a $400.00 loan. - counted $400.00 out on the table. I put it in my wallet. As i was putting the $400.00 into my wallet. - picked up the loan contract, walked across the office stating something about a staple. - But there are no staples in cash store contracts. ) however, i didnt suspect anything underhanded at that point. - - walked to a big office machine. On the back wall of the front office. ). I now realize it was a printer ) then walked back toward me. Folded the loan contract & handed it to me. I left the cash store & did not look at the contract she folded & handed to me until AFTER i attempted to pay the loan off 2 weeks later. When i went in to the cash store to pay off the $400.00 loan. The other cash store agent ( dont know her name ) told me i owed over $950.00! I was SHOCKED! I told her there was a mistake. I only borrowed $400.00! Theres no way payoff in over $900.00! Then - walked into the office from the back room. Walked straight to an open file cabinet drawer. Reached in & immediately pulled out a signature page of the alleged $800.00 loan that she claimed i got & owed for. I left. How many office workers could pull an unexpected customers file out so quickly? I dont know any UNLESS. They were waiting on them for a reason. In this case. A really bad reason. At this point i STILL didnt understand what - had done. I still thought there was a mistake. When i got home. I found my contract and realized that i had beenScammed. The papers i had at home was not the contract i had signed. The difference between that contract and the first - contracts was that my bank card information was included in the - contract. I had NEVER GIVEN THEM MY BANK CARD INFORMATION. And never would give them my bank card information! I asked my bank if they Ever give out bank card information for ANY REASON. My bank said Absolutely Not! Now the cash store wants over $1000.00 for that loan rhonda doubled. I do not know what to do. But i refuse to bend to extortion! And i believe thats exactly what this is! Before this horrible experience i believed that payday lenders served a necessary purpose by extending credit to those of lower income. And as long as you paid the loan quickly. There would be a fee. But not one a person could not live with. But this is way too far! The owner & i are both - victims!
