I am behind in my car payments due to unforseen personal circumstances. I had established a good standing with Wilshire up to the point of my default and and often paid early. I refinanced an existing loan only to have payment due in just 10 days. I have spoken to Wilshire several times about my inability to pay at this time and tried to work with them. Upon day 30 of my delinquency, they sent a repo man out to repossess my car and continue to call at all times of the day from various numbers. I tried to settle one month with the repo man but he was abusive and would not accept since I was a few days into the second month and he wanted 2 months or nothing. I told him that I was unable to do that and would have to pay my other bills instead. The phone number they are calling me on is my work number and the only number I have. I asked them to stop calling this number as it is affecting my work and ability to pay them back. They have ignored this request and on top of calling me incessantly


my references since they know how to locate me. - from - - ( the same number they call me on then leave a message to call - which is Wilshire ) called at least one of my references at yesterday - -, AFTER my conversation with them at - -. This tactic is used to embarrass, harass and humiliate me ( I told them I know this is an unfair practice under the Fair Debt Collection Act ), not to mention ruin my reputation in a community I have worked hard to establish a name and a business. They know how to locate me! I had just talked to them! I told them I have every intention to get my account paid up and will do as soon as I can. It may be another 30 days, but could be sooner since I am in sales and have several deals in the works. Wilshire has proven they do not want to work with me, but harass and embarrass and intimidate me. If you read other consumer comments on the Web this is a typical tale, and many say do n't take a loan with Wilshire! Generally, I can not have no conversation with these people since they talk over me and are not interested in anything I say. It 's just pay up or else ''. I am available and can be located as I said, but I do not answer every - # call coming into my phone assuming it is a solicitor and I use this line for business and I am often with clients or need my phone available for incoming and outgoing business calls. Also, when I looked up the number they are calling me from - it is listed under Westlake Financial '' with whom I have no known business.
