I have been making payments with an external checking account through the issuer 's website or third-party bill pay service to my credit card. Unknown to me, I was not able to make payments after I opened a checking account with the issuer, which there was no sign or warning that the service has been redesigned. I ended up calling the issuer to make a phone payment, which was considered late due to time zone difference.
