I am writing in regard to - account - - - at - - - in - -, Ohio -. I was a long time subscriber to - for 9 1/2 years. At age -, I subscribed at the lowest price point because my income is well below the poverty level ( just a little over $12000.00 a year ). A - telemarketer contacted me and thanked me for being a long time subscriber and told me that I was eligible for a free upgrade to High Definition service. The telemarketer used unfair and deceptive marketing practices by telling me that I would also receive 3 months of premium movie channels at no charge. - failed to adequately disclose the true nature of the deal in a manner that I could understand, which resulted in much higher prices, unauthorized charges and a requirement that I maintain the new rate for 2 years. - used high pressure predatory practices by targeting me as an elderly person, who - gets confused over the details. All I understood is that I was being rewarded for being a good customer with free services. When I saw my next invoice, I saw that my subscription


that I wanted to cancel all services and was told that I would be charged for a verbal 2 year contract. I cancelled my service and returned the required equipment. - 's predatory, and deceptive practices was confusing to me at my age. - has since issued collection actions through Diversified Consultants - Agency reference # - - in the amount of $470.00 which hit my credit rating. I am requesting that - cancel all inaccurately perceived debts due as a result of their deceptive actions, cancel collection actions including repeated phone calls, and rescind the credit rating incident, in order to restore my credit rating to pre incident levels.
