Medical Communication tactics Threatened to take legal action Nevada
I am attempting to settle a medical debt from 2013. I am on a limited income because I am - as determined by the Social Security Administration. I contacted the collection agency, Allied Collections in - - regarding this debit. I advised them that I would like to make an appointment to come in and make pymnt arrangements. I made an appointment, however my --month old child was ill and I had to take care of her. I called them within a few hours advance notice and they were extremely rude to me and asked me to bring my daughter in anyway. I advised them that I would not, and they threatened me with higher interest rates on my debt if I did not make an appointment with them the next day. I made an appointment but my daughter was still ill the next day so I had to cancel again. I just checked my credit score and my interest rate and penalties went up in value. I made a complaint with the - in - - about this and was given a number to call. I feel that I am being punished for canceling an appointment with this collection service.
