I had a phone account with -. As I was traveling abroad frequently I requested them to charge only to keep my number active. They did ask me to pay $20.00 per month for one or two months and then refused to do any extension. so after two months they started to charge regular amount of $ 52.00+change, I then called them to disconnect my account and sent them my final payment of $ 52+change. They did not cancel my account and kept billing me for next two or thee months. When I called them why are they still sending me bills, when I had canceled this account. There reply was that they have no record of my calling them and still have to pay three months and late fees. I refused to pay as I was not responsible for their mistake. This is about four years back. I never received any letter from any credit company. Now they have put on my credit report thru some AFNI credit.This is more of a black mail as these companies can getaway because they are too big & nobody can fight with them.This so called debt is about four years old.
