Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed Debt is not mine California
I 'm being charge a amount of $1900.00 for some storage fees of a vehicle that I sold in 2007. A car that has not been in my possession for over 8 years. They claim that I owe the debt because I was the last register owner. I asked them how can that be if I never received any license fees, registration, smog requirements or any paperwork from the DMV stating that I own the vehicle, The Debt collector then stated that I must of never finished register process of the vehicle and that 's why I am responsible. I told them that the truck was under my name and I had it for 3 years and when I sold it I turned in my release of liability paper work to the DMV. There fore I should not be responsible for this debt. I did not sign or agree on any agreement for the yard which should make me free of this debt.
