Encore Capital Group Credit card department,
A debt belonging to an ex-spouse resulted in a lien against my house. I have been divorced for 4+ years. The divorce decree states the debt is her sole responsibility. The debt is in her name ( I am not part of the original contract ). Her name has been removed from the property and has been confirmed by county records. The company Midland Financial refuses to speak with me regarding the matter because my name is not on the account. I am not looking for anything more than getting the lien released from my property since the debt is not mine in any way. Attorneys say they can not help me and the county says there is nothing I can do, but there is no way this can be right? I need your help because I do n't have the money to afford extensive litigation.
