On -/-/15 my husband received - services through - - - - -. On -/-/- - - - billed us for the remaining balance after insurance paid their part. We had had prior experience with - - - billing us for amounts that should have been settled through insurance. On -/-/15 I spoke to a person at - - - who said the bill should be sent for adjustment and we should not pay while this was being done. We did not hear from them again. On -/-/15 we received a letter from Professional Credit Services saying the bill had gone to collection. We became concerned about our credit rating and paid the bill to PCS that day. When I called - - - on -/-/- they told me they had not sent the bill to PCS or any other debt collector but would look into it. I did not hear back from them. On -/-/- we received a bill from a second collection agency, - -, for the same amount. - - - now tell me they did send the bill to - -. It appears that they never did send the original bill for adjustment, nor did they attempt to re-bill us before sending it to collection. PCS tells me they did not buy the debt but had it sent to them by - - -. They also say they paid the full amount to - - - as soon as we paid the bill, on -. - - - claim they do n't have the money. Meanwhile, - - - think they have a right to collect this money. We are very concerned about what having this debt looking like it is outstanding will do to our credit rating. We are also wondering where the money we paid to PCS has gone. I have spent a lot of time on the phone trying to address this, and would very much appreciate your assistance!
