Doctor was paid by insurance after they appealed due to 'out of network ' status. Doctor chose to accept insurance payment and write off remainder. I have statement from doctor 's office showing - balance that I owe. Debt collector, however, apparently did not receive the settlement notice from the doctor 's office and is continuing to pursue the balance from me a year after doctor 's office accepted settlement.
