I had identity theft in 2013, and - - ( I 've never lived in GA ) charges were sent to the collection agency - - ( - ). I filled out a police report, placed a fraud alert on my credit agency reports, and completed an Identity Fraud packet for -. The debt was settled with - group. They were very helpful. Now, 2 years later, I am receiving calls and letters from Convergent Outsourcing, attempting to collect the same debt ( but in a different amount ). I faxed and mailed Convergent all my supporting files from the previous experience with - but only those with my address and no other info. A phone rep told me she considered it settled, but mail keeps coming from them asking for the debt.
