Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed Debt is not mine Tennessee
I received a letter from First National Collection Bureau , Inc. ( creditor - - - -, - '' ) representing that I owe a debt to - -. I called FNCB, and a representative said it was a - that I had opened in -/-/- and closed in -/-/-. I never opened a - in -/-/-, nor does such an item appear on any of my credit reports. When I contacted - -, they represented that, not only do they not recognize the account number included on the FNCB letter, but I never had an account with them, and further, that they only carry -, not -, and thus the debt could never have existed. I would like to note that, when I told the representative from FNCB that I dispute the claim, he asked what exactly I was disputing, and I told him that I disputed that the debt ever existed, and their representative said he would report it to the original creditor ( which is obviously impossible since the original creditor has no knowledge of said debt ). I doubt, therefore, that the employees of the company know that they are fraudulently attempting to collect on nonexistent debt ( s ).
