Progressive Financial Services - Inc. and I agreed to the minimal payment of $5.00 a month on an overly inflated student loan total of $59000.00. I work 20 hrs a week at $ -. I pay rent, phone and the IRS. I can barely buy food. I was told that I was eligible for the $5.00 a month plan. So I faxed them a doc of income, pay stubs and references as they requested only to get a phone call saying that my monthly payments will be $27.00 a month instead. I told them that 's not what we agreed on and I can only afford our original arrangement and the agent kept trying to talk '' me into it and threatening to garnish my wages if I do n't pay the $27.00 a month. I told them no deal and now they are constantly calling me, several times a day, at all hours of the day and never leaving a message. I thought that if I offer what I can pay and they accept that, they would finally get off my back and take my loan out of default. Not try to reel me in under false pretenses.
