Amex Credit card department,
American Express had closed my account. It was sent to - to handle my payment plan that started in -/-/- and to end in a year, -/-/-. Successful payments were made. For reasons unknown to me, and after calling on - different occasions, I discovered that American Express contacted - on - - to take my account back were they then sent it to collections. No one can tell me why this has happened since all of my payments since - are current. American Express says they can not they me what happened though they are the ones that authorized the account to be returned to them and they all just refer me to the credit collectors. The credit collectors have no explanation except to say that American Express sent the account to them. This is means that American Express does know why and are lying to me, the consumer, when they say they do n't know. American Express violated the terms of my agreement with - and made no effort to contact me when they sent it to another collection agency. American Express blamed it on the system '' automatically sending it to collections although I was already working with another collection agency and had made successful payments with them. I just want to know why I was sent to another collection agency when I was already working with - that was successfully withdrawing the agreed upon amount for six months to only have American Express violate the agreement I had.
