On -/-/-, I made a purchase totaling $85.00 on my JC Penny Credit CardAlmost a year later, in - of -, I received a notice from - - - for $230.00. Not knowing what it was for, I contacted them and upon my inquiry realized it was for the purchase of the $85.00 made the year before plus all of the collection/late fees. We had moved and the billing address was not updated to reflect the new address which I accepted responsibility for. I immediately contacted JC Penny and they had record of return mail and accepted and filed a dispute on my behalf. For the time period of - - - I never received any information about my dispute, and the collection calls kept coming. In - of this year, to finalize this, we negotiated the $230.00 balance and settled with - for $120.00 which was paid. Two weeks after settlement and almost 7 months after filing the dispute, I received notice from JC Penny they were finding in my favor for the dispute and that they placed my account back in good standing. I then received a statement from JC Penny for $110.00, which is basically the $230.00 less the settled amount of - that was paid. Essentially all of the late fees. I contacted them to advise the account was previously settled and as part of that settlement the acct should be zero, but I get nowhere. I have attempted to speak with agents and supervisors on a few occasions, ( - - and again - - ) but no one seems competent enough to assist with this so I am seeking help to resolve this once and for all. I am now getting $25.00 late fees assessed on the $110.00 balance when there should n't be a balance. Thank you for attention to this matter and am willing to cooperate to get this settled quickly.
