I have been summoned to small claims court over a debt for a doctor bill. I had been paying on the debt the best I could and it was turned over to a collection agency. The collection agency has sent me - letters and I have received no phone calls. The amount of money that they say that I owe is more than the agreed amount that I had arranged with the doctor. In the - bill they sent me was in -/-/- and the doctor bill was inflated by about 300 dollars and there was a hospital bill that did not belong to me from 2004. The next bill I received was just for the doctor bill ( still inflated ) and there was a threatening note above the statement that stated : We have tried to contact several times and you ignored us, so unless you respond we are going to have to file suite . So, I responded. They did not like my response so they served me papers. I had offered to pay the amount that I owe but they would not except that offer.
