GE Capital Retail Credit card department,
After submitting a complaint ( Case Number - ) I received a call from Synchrony Bank where they argued with me about my complaint. Eventually they agreed to remove the late fee. However, even though I paid the balance in full as soon as Synchrony gave me access to the transferred account, today I see that they charged me $32.00 in interest. They are clearly doing that to penalize me for complaining to CFPB, as the account is closed, has been paid in full, and late fee removed. I would happily have paid Synchrony in full earlier, by their due date, if they had given me access to do so. But because I followed their instructions, paying quickly when they finally got the account transferred, they first hit me with a late fee, and then - because I complained to CFPB - now have charged me interest. I demand that Synchrony - out the balance, remove any charges ( late fees, interest, penalties, whatever ), and send me a statement showing a - balance closed account with no impact on my credit report. Do n't let Synchrony punish consumers who seek help from CFPB. Thank you.
