Closing/Cancelling account Kentucky

I had accounts with - ( when it was - - - ), and - - Store Card which is current but I expect it will be closed the moment I pay it off. These were all managed under - Credit until Synchrony Bank took over. All of the accounts managed under Synchrony Bank I have gone through the same treatment. You get approved, they either raise or lower your limit and then close the account without any prior notice. They are checking the customers credit reports every month without the customers knowledge which makes their credit score go down, Synchrony lowers the customers credit limit which makes the customers credit score go down, then they close the customers account which makes the credit score go down also. I really wish I would have done an online search for complaints regarding this bank because there are many that have experienced the same thing. I had - returned payment on the - card and they closed my account without notifying me. I missed a payment, but did pay the late fee, got caught up on my - account and they closed it without notifying me. I never missed a payment with -, they lowered my limit then closed the account without any notification. They have already lowered the limit on my - Store Card and I am close to paying that off so I left to believe that they will also close my account once it is paid off as well. I do not understand how the way they operate is even legal, they close your account yet still charge you high interest rates each month along with fees as if the account is still active. I continue to make the payments on the Synchrony accounts that are not paid off each month, but it is a great burden.
