I had a -/-/- Honda Accord, which finally not working in -/-/- after running for about 17 years - totaled - miles ). The car was filed as non-operational with -. So, - day some guy left me a note on the car asked if I 'm interested to sell the car. I called the guy and he came and towe the car away. I ask the guy for his personal infomation and went to - and filed the release of ownership ( see attached - record ). However, a few weeks later, I received a letter from the Police saids my car was parked on the side of the freeway and then was towed to a towing yard. At the same time I received a collection letter from Finex Group, acct # - saying I owed $2900.00. I called and told them the car is not mine anymore, but they keep insist that I 'm still the owner. I told them I have the - record to show the car is not mine anymore. However, they refuse to remove from collection. I think this is some kind of scram. They purposely buy cars from owners and left them somewhere and then have towing company tow it to their guarage and trying to collect from original owner. I would like CFPB to seriously look into this matter and have this item remove from my credit report. Thank you so much. -
