In - the - - - - Office of Finance sent to me a notice claiming that I owed a business tax on income generated in - and -. This is impossible, as I was involved in a tax-exempt activity ( creative writing ) recognized by the - of - - as a tax-exempt activity. I also qualified for the small business exemption, though I never had a business. Furthermore, I was exempt in that I never generated enough income to qualify for the business tax. Since this time, the - of - - has sent this erroneous debt to several debt collection companies, all of whom have been unable to verify the debt, and have dropped it. Yet the collection companies keep coming after me. Municipal Services Bureau ( MSB ) viciously harassed me and tried to force payment on this erroneous debt back in - -. After addressing the matter with my attorney they dropped the debt. Now they are coming after me again. They have sent to me a bill from the - of - - and claimed that this is verification. An erroneous bill is not verification of a debt. There is no debt. To state it clearly, NO TA- WAS EVER OWED, AS I QUALIFIED FOR - DISTINCT E-EMPTIONS. Collecting on this debt is an act of fraud, negligence and incompetence on the part of collectors and the - - - - Office of Finance. Municipal Services Bureau is engaging in debt collection harassment. I strongly suggest that the FTC investigate MSB and the - - - - Office of Finance. I will never pay this erroneous debt.
