Called American Express, tel. -. Paying off this closed account. Over telephone chose payment of entire amount due. Paid what was quoted ontheir electronic payment center as amount due. Got billed again an interest chargeof $5.00 even though the machine informed I was paying off the entire amount. Spoke with a representative named -. He said I had to pay this, could not be waived. I told him I wanted to appeal, said I could not appeal. This is a recurring monthly interest charge that should not be charged. The account was closed. The entire amount was paid off, why is there a recurring interest charge being billed. This is fraud. Want a refund of my $5.00 that I had to pay.
