The Harvard Collection Services located at - - - -, -, IL - engaged in Unfair Collection Practices and Unfair Credit Reporting Practices. A Harvard representative contacted me regarding a - bill. The Bill belong to a family member that resided in a home owned by me. I previously agreed to a weekly debit of $25.00 with a different collection agency hired -. The past due bill was transferred from the prior agency and given to Harvard for final collection activity. When speaking with the Harvard representative, I was told that if I paid $220.00, the bill would be paid in full, no further collection activity would continue, and this matter would not be reflected on my credit report. I paid the agreed upon amount on or about - -, 2015. On - -, 2015, I received an alert from - indicating that a collection account was added to my report. That Monday, I contacted Harvard. I spoke to a representative who advised that the prior young lady that took the payment did not update the system correctly, which caused this to be report to my credit profile. She assured me that this matter would be deleted from my credit profile. I followed-up a few days later and was told by a different representative that this matter would stay on my credit report until the $91.00 was paid. ( Please note that the $91.00 represents fees added to the balance of the bill, and not fees associated with the electric/gas services provided by -. ) I immediately requested to speak to a supervisor and requested to have all telephone calls pertaining to my account pulled and listened to. I followed-up two days later and was told that the supervisor would have the information deleted from my credit profile. To date, it does n't appear that this has happened. As a result of this unfair collection practice of providing false information in an effort to obtain payment of an debt, I have poor credit. My score has dropped from the - to -. I respectfully request your assistance in this matter.
