I attempted to negotiate a reduced amount for a full and final settlement of my debt. The collection company, Frost-Arnett Company, told me that I had to front the money that I was offering and they would take that amount to the creditor and see if they would accept it for settlement. I provided my account information and the funds were withdrawn. I was contacted three weeks later and told that the creditor had refused to accept my offer of settlement. I was also told that the money I had offered for settlement would not be returned to me and that I was still responsible to pay the remaining balance. This was not my offer. I wanted to settle for an amount, full and final or I would be willing to make payment arrangements for the full balance.
